Hey there, future wordsmiths extraordinaire!
You know, I used to spend a lot of time reading articles and books on how to become a “successful” writer.
I tried to follow all their suggested rules, thinking that’s what I needed to do to be a “real” writer.
But guess what?
It didn’t feel right at all.
I wasn’t myself.
I wasn’t sharing my stories, quirks, or passions.
I was just trying to be like everyone else, to emulate other authors.
It showed in my writing. It lacked any special spark, that unique element that makes writing exciting and funny.
One day, I asked myself a big question:
Am I being true to who I really am?
The answer wasn’t a simple “yes.”
That question started my journey to find my authentic writer’s voice.
So, what did I do next?
I put away my phone (yes, I’ve been able to!), found a quiet spot in nature, and sat in silence.
I gave myself time to think.

I started writing my thoughts, being completely honest with myself.
In that peaceful moment, I started to discover the real me, the writer I wanted to be.
I started writing from my heart, thinking about my own stories, even the horrible, weird, and wonderful ones that felt uniquely mine.
I stopped trying to impress and just wrote for joy.
And I felt like I was finally free, like I had unlocked something powerful within myself.
A “magical” transformation
Something amazing happened as I embraced my true writer self.
My words began to come alive on the page.
I stopped chasing approval and focused on what made me happy: writing because it lit up my soul and let me express myself through a novel.

Am I a successful writer? I don’t know, and I don’t care now.
What matters to me is that I became a better and happier writer.
Your turn!
Here’s a little challenge for you: put away your phone, find a quiet corner, and just sit in silence for a while.
Don’t rush.
Take your time.
Write down your thoughts, explore your feelings thoroughly, and be brutally honest.
Take a break, think about it overnight, and see what happens.
You’ll find your answer within.
The power of being yourself
Finding my real writer’s voice was like discovering a hidden treasure inside me.
It wasn’t about pleasing others or fitting into someone else’s idea of what writing should be. It was about celebrating what makes me me.
When you stop seeking approval and write from your heart, your words become powerful.
The more real, relatable, and honest you are, the more you connect with your readers.
I hope my journey inspires you to start your own adventure in writing. Embrace your unique voice, quirks, and stories.
Unleash the wild, unfiltered energy of your true self onto the page. Let your quirks, obsessions, and truths shine without shame or apology.
Go ahead and start writing your unique story. The world is waiting to be inspired by the real you.
I’m excited to see where your journey takes you!
May your coffee be strong, and your plot twists even stronger—until next time!

Lately, I’ve been hooked on Forensics: The Real CSI on HBO. Also, I recently read an awesome piece in
called After 1,000+ Days Of Journaling, These 10 Prompts Most Accelerated My Personal Progress, and it really got me thinking.By the way, if you’re interested, I’ve got a couple of freebies you can snag—one’s about character archetypes, and the other’s a guide on writing dialogue in fiction.
